Eric Schmitt
Short profile
During his bachelor’s program, Eric Schmitt, as a co-founder, helped launch bhyo., an energy startup that aims to produce carbon-negative hydrogen from biogenic waste materials. While pursuing his master’s degree in management at the University of Mannheim, he played a key role in a successful funding round to expand the existing test facility and build a commercially scaled pilot plant. As part of the European Management Track (EMT) at Copenhagen Business School (CBS), he deepened his knowledge in the areas of sustainability and finance. Since completing his studies, Eric Schmitt has been working for a northern German family office in Bremen that focuses on medium-sized companies in Germany. Since July 2026, he has been overseeing a funded project on the bioeconomy at the department in cooperation with bhyo., in which he combines his practical and academic experience.
