Microsoft 365 for Employees
The Microsoft 365 cloud service offers employees as well as PhD students of the University of Mannheim the option to use various applications for digital communication and collaboration.
We have set up an extra instance for students. For more information, please see M365 for students.
How do I log into M365?
- Open the page https://login.microsoft.com/.
- Enter your e-mail address in the format uni-idad.uni-mannheim.de, replacing “uni-id” with your personal Uni-ID. (PhD students must have their accounts activated and sign a confidentiality agreement to do so.)
- You will be redirected to the login page of the University of Mannheim. Log in with your Uni-ID and the corresponding password.
How do I open M365 applications ...
... via the desktop app?
- Log into the M365 environment.
- In the left sidebar, select Apps and then Install apps > Microsoft 365 apps. Click on Install Office.
- Execute the downloaded file and start the installation.
- Start the relevant application and enter your login details again.
... via my browser?
- Log into the M365 environment.
- You can see an overview of the various apps.
- Start the relevant application.
... via Teams?
- Open the browser or desktop version of Teams.
- Click on the three dots in the sidebar on the left. Search for the relevant app and start it.
Tip: You can add individual applications to Teams channels by clicking on the plus icon next to the name at the top of the relevant chat.
