The article “Self-employment as a path to labour market integration: perspectives from the start-up ecosystem” by Carina Hartmann and Esra Güllü has been published in the handbook “Arbeitsmarktintegration von Geflüchteten” (Labour market integration of refugees) by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für wirtschaftliche Verwaltung (AWV).
Five years after the so-called summer of migration, the handbook “Arbeitsmarktintegration von Geflüchteten” (Labour market integration of refugees) can be used as an interim assessment with concrete suggestions
- for the removal of further bureaucratic hurdles
- the need for improvements in administrative implementation and
- for even better cooperation between the various labour market players.
The result is a work that is aimed specifically at practitioners from public administration, chambers and civil society by presenting a variety of approaches to labour market integration. The special feature of this handbook is that the individual chapters are supplemented by suitable profiles of specific integration projects. This provides readers with an overview of the current state of research as well as the most important practical aspects of the labour market integration of refugees.
The AWV is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and is the central forum in Germany for addressing current issues relating to economic efficiency in the administration of the state and companies. Co-operation partners from public administration, business and the third sector – with the participation of academia – work together actively in working groups.
