Where can I see my courses?
You can see your courses under Teaching > My courses.

Which participation options can I offer for my courses?
You can specify the following participation options in the Portal²:
- Live and on-campus (not recorded)
- Live and on-campus (recorded)
- Live and on campus and digitally live (not recorded)
- Digitally live (not recorded)
- Digitally recorded
- Digitally live (not recorded)
- Recording without attendance
- On campus and digitally live- recorded
- Live and on-campus & in part digitally live

How can I create an attendance list for my course?
Please proceed as follows to display attendance lists:
- Open the menu item Teaching > Courses of my institution/
My courses. - Click on the “Person icon” on the right-hand side of the line for the desired course.
Two further options, as well as the export function and further information, can be found under “Participant lists”.

How can I admit students to my lecture?
Please note: The allocation of spots to students can be initiated by the program managers or in consultation with the UNIT campus management team.
There are various registration procedures that define how students can register for the course:
- Group priority
- Module priority
- Real-time registration
Depending on the registration procedure, there are various allocation procedures that determine how students are assigned to courses:
- Admission by lottery (real-time registration, group priority)
- Sorted assignment (real-time registration, group priority)
- Sorted assignment with conflict check (real-time registration, group priority)
- Module assignment (module priority)
- Sorted module assignment (module priority)
- Withdrawal of the assignment
Before the spots can be assigned, the course must be locked. Please proceed as follows:
- Search for the desired course.
- Search for the desired course.
- Click on “Lock results.”
With some roles, it is possible to edit the results manually afterwards and add or remove students from courses using their student ID numbers etc.

Course registrations can be managed either via the Portal² or via ILIAS.
Please note: In order to make the necessary settings for your courses, you must be registered as the “responsible teacher.”

Examinations
Where can I see examinations that have already been created?
Go to Studying > List of all examinations.
You will see a list of all exams for the selected semester and use the filter option to narrow down your results.

How can I print out documents for my examination?
- Open the menu item Teaching > My courses and examinations.
- Go to the “Examinations” tab.
- Click on “Show participants” for the desired examinations.
- Choose the corresponding room.
- Select the desired print product under “Orders” (top left).
A file will be created which you can save and print.

Where can I enter grades for an examination?
You can enter or import grades in the “Examinations” tab under Teaching > My courses and examinations.

Can I ask someone else to enter grades for me?
As teacher, you can assign other persons to enter grades for your examinations. Please fill in the respective form “Rollenzuweisung Prüfungsvertretung” and submit it to Student Services.

ILIAS
What is the dashboard for?
The dashboard is loaded automatically when you log in to ILIAS or can be accessed via Personal Desktop > Overview. All ILIAS learning group memberships are displayed here, both from the current and previous semesters. Next to the group name is an action field containing commands that can also be selected from within the group by clicking on the group name. To manage a group, first click on the name of the group.
Where can I create an ILIAS course for my course?
- Open the menu item Teaching > My courses.
- Go to the editing page of the desired semester-dependent course (parallel group).
- Click on the “E-Learning” tab.
- Click on “Connect with E-Learning-System (ILIAS)”.
- A small window will open where you can select your ILIAS course.

Where is the link for my ILIAS course?
In the detailed view under the “Dates” tab, you will find the direct link to the ILIAS group next to “Show details.”

How can admitted participants access ILIAS content?
In order for authorized participants (members) to access ILIAS content, they must be activated. This can only be done directly in ILIAS. As an ILIAS administrator, you will see the “Portal² members” link on the left side of the navigation bar. Here you can activate and deactivate the transfer of members from Portal².

How can I edit my group or course in ILIAS?
Clicking on a learning group or event opens a content overview for that course. A navigation bar appears at the top, offering various options:
- Content
- Show
- Manage
- Sort
- Customize
- Settings
- Members
- Rights
- Info
- Preview
- Action drop-down menu

Under “Rights,” you can specify which group is allowed to perform which actions on the object.
The actions are divided into the following areas:
- Standard operations
- Object-specific operations
- Rights settings
- Create new object
All rights for specific accounts can be displayed and checked under “User rights.”

How can I disable an ILIAS course?
- Open the “E-Learning” tab in the editing view of the course.
- Click on the trash can icon on the right under “Action.”
- Click on “Save” to move the ILIAS course to the archive.

How can I store files in ILIAS?
There is only one folder on the start page of a course. However, you can also cross-link files from this repository to other objects.
In this folder, you can store files via Add new object or create a structure using subfolders.
You can insert files or web links.
You can upload files by:
- dragging a file/
folder into the browser field - selecting a file/
folder from your computer - copying a file from a folder that has already been uploaded

How can I change the language of the ILIAS interface?
- Click on “Settings” under your personal desktop.
- Select your preferred language and “save” the settings.
The setting will be applied permanently and will not need to be reset after your next login.
How can I add additional teachers and administrators to my ILIAS course?
- Open the menu item Teaching > My courses.
- Go to the editing page of the desired course (parallel group).
- Click on the E-Learning tab.
- Click on the person with star icon to the right of the ILIAS group.
