Speaker Bio
Saori Dubourg has been a member of the Executive Board of BASF SE since May 2017. Until February 2022, she was responsible for the global businesses in the Agricultural Solutions, Nutrition & Health, and Care Chemicals divisions. Since March 2022, she has led the global businesses Monomers, Performance Materials, Petrochemicals, and Intermediates. She is also responsible for the Europe region, the startup trinamiX and the BASF Corporate Sustainability Board.

She has been with BASF since 1996 in various functions, including several years in the USA, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong. Dubourg's professional experience includes strategy and operational leadership, for example in the dispersions, monomers and superabsorbents, nutrition and pharmaceuticals businesses. She also led BASF's senior executive human resources and, as president, all country operations and functional areas in Asia Pacific. From 2013 to May 2017, Dubourg was president of the Nutrition & Health division. 

In 2018, Dubourg was instrumental in the acquisition of a number of businesses and assets from Bayer, strategically complementing BASF's activities in crop protection, biotechnology and digital farming. In charge of BASF's construction chemicals business, she was responsible for the divestment of the construction chemicals division to private equity firm Lone Star in 2020.

As a member of the EU Commission's Industry Policy Group, Saori Dubourg contributed to the vision paper on Europe 2030 together with experts. The report was published in June 2019 and outlines the future of the European industry in 2030.

With the theme 'Value to Society', she has been pursuing holistic and future-oriented corporate steering and accounting for the corporate group for years. Saori Dubourg chairs the steering committee of the Value-Balancing Alliance, which was founded with partners in June 2019. The aim of the alliance is to use a standardised model to make the value contribution of companies measurable in the areas of environment, society and economy. 

Since January 2020, Saori Dubourg has been a member of the German Council for Sustainable Development, which advises the German government on the implementation of the sustainability strategy.
