The InES pursues the paradigm of a theory-centered design of Enterprise Systems. Theoretical-empirical findings are transformed so that they can be used for the concrete design of Enterprise Systems. The research at InES is based on a method-pluralistic approach: Empirical methods of the social sciences are combined with instruments of the real, formal and engineering sciences, in particular computer science. Our research is characterized by a broad range of methods: case studies, action research, questionnaire-based studies, laboratory / field experiments, and design-oriented approaches (such as prototyping). Our research uses theories of economics and theories of reference disciplines such as psychology and sociology.
