University Sports Fan Club

“By students – for students” was the motto under which Paul Mörsch launched an initiative in 1994 involving committed athletes from the University of Mannheim. The “Fan Club of University Sports” was founded to improve the range of sports on offer for all students, support the Institute of Sports, and finance the purchase of modern sports equipment when state and university funds were insufficient.

Our goal is to support university sports by:

Purchasing sports equipment
Covering the costs of trainers
Providing further training for trainers

Since the association was founded, it has had between 200 and 300 members annually. Former students in particular use the association to stay in touch with the university and their fellow students. The association is primarily a support association for the interests of university sports and is run by a volunteer board.
