In the EO corridor on the 1st floor, we celebrated the opening of the exhibition “Top Class – in Studies and Elite Sports 3.0” together with guests from the University’s Circle of Friends and the Foundation. The presentation placed our elite sports scholarship holders impressively at the center and showed how successfully academic studies and high-performance sports can be combined.

For the photo series, the university collaborated with photographers Matthias Hangst and Rudolf Lange. The company Engelhorn provided the clothing for the project. The portraits show the scholarship holders in outfits that combine a sporty and a fashionable side – with a national team or club jersey on one side and fashion from Engelhorn on the other. The images make visible how the students navigate between the demands of sports, academic commitments, and career orientation.

A special highlight of the evening was an impressive fencing performance by two athletes, which captivated the audience with its dynamism, precision, and remarkable skill.

The evening also offered inspiring encounters, stimulating conversations, and a wide range of insights into the achievements of the supported athletes.

The exhibition is on view until August 31, 2026.
