Thank you!
Our deepest gratitude goes out to all those who have supported our university through their donations, commitment, or moral encouragement. Your contribution has not only helped bring our values and goals to life – you have shaped, supported, and built alongside us.
But our journey is far from over. As we look to the future, we continue to rely on people like you – people who believe in education, research, and the power of knowledge. Your ongoing support enables us to foster talent, develop new ideas, and maintain our university as one of the leading places of learning and research in Germany.
Thank you for walking this path with us – yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
In Grateful Memory of Edmund Wilhelm Kuhlmann
February 24, 1930 – August 24, 2026

With great sadness, we mourn the passing of Edmund Wilhelm Kuhlmann, a long-standing and exceptionally generous supporter of the University of Mannheim Foundation.
Edmund Wilhelm Kuhlmann had a particularly close connection to the University of Mannheim. Through his trust and generous support, he supported the Foundation’s work for many years and helped create opportunities for young people and make important projects at the University possible.
His commitment was rooted in the deep conviction that education, research and the advancement of young people are investments in the future. He was particularly passionate about providing direct support to students through scholarships and awards. Through the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship programme, he was especially committed to supporting high-achieving students in the final phase of their studies and helping provide them with strong foundations for their future.
Our thoughts are with his wife, Edith Kuhlmann, as well as with his family and all those who were close to him.
We will remember Edmund Wilhelm Kuhlmann as a person whose generosity and commitment have made a lasting contribution to the University of Mannheim.
His legacy will live on through the work of the University of Mannheim Foundation.
