Laura was born in Hanau, Germany. She received a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Mannheim with a focus on Public Economics and Development Economics. During her studies Laura spent each a semester at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and the ENSAE in Paris. After her Bachelor’s degree she spent a year gathering work experience at the Institute for the World Economy in Kiel and the German Chamber of Commerce in Montevideo, Uruguay. She further worked as a research assistant at the University of Mannheim and the ZEW and wrote her Master thesis in cooperation with the center. In her master thesis she evaluated the effects of capital gains taxation on the portfolio allocation of German households. Laura joined the University of Mannheim in March 2020 and the Taxation Track in September 2020.
