GESS Student Representatives

GESS student representatives are elected by their Center's doctoral students to represent their interests at the Graduate School. This ensures that student interests, concerns, and needs are considered at every level of decision-making. When receiving feedback student representatives can drive positive change within the GESS and ensure that student needs are being met. The responsibilities and tasks of the GESS student representatives include:

  • Representation of the GESS student body at the Graduate School by advocating and communicating student interests to the GESS board and the administration.
  • Proactively meeting and voicing feedback from students.
  • Attending meetings with the GESS board and administration to provide feedback on the student experience.
  • Informing the student body about relevant discussions and decisions at meetings of the student representatives or the GESS board.
