Giovanni Ballarin

Giovanni was born in 1994 in Cremona, Italy. He completed his Bachelor's in Mathematics in Milan at the University of Milano-Bicocca. He then earned his Master of Science in Economics in a joint Double Degree program between the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the University of Konstanz. He worked as a student assistant for Junior Prof. Lyudmila Grigoryeva jointly with the Computational Chemistry Group at the University of Konstanz on machine learning applications.

His primary research fields are time series analysis and econometrics, machine and statistical learning, and macroeconometrics. His work currently focuses on forecasting and inference with nonlinear and nonparametric time series models.
