Jakob was born in Stuttgart in 1995. Before joining the CDSE, he received his B.Sc. in Economics from Heidelberg University and his M.Sc. in Economics from Mannheim University. During his bachelor's degree, he started working as an intern at the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW). There, he continued working as a research assistant during his master's program in the department of Social Policy and Redistribution. His main field of interest is applied public economics. His master's thesis deals with inequalities in the tax deduction behavior of German taxpayers. In his spare time, he enjoys playing football, going to concerts, making music, and reading.
