Taro was born in 1990 in Shizuoka, Japan. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hitotsubashi University and a master’s degree in International Economics and Public Policy from Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz. Prior to joining the CDSE, he worked at the Bank of Japan for eight years, where he was involved in financial regulation, financial markets, and European economic analysis. He is interested in public economics and applied econometrics.

He is enthusiastic about Mahjong, a poker-like Asian board game.
