Taro was born in 1990 in Shizuoka, Japan. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hitotsubashi University and a master’s degree in International Economics and Public Policy from Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz. Prior to joining CDSE, he worked at the Bank of Japan for eight years as a financial analyst. He is interested in microeconometrics, particularly at the intersection of causal inference and machine learning.

He is enthusiastic about Mahjong, a poker-like Asian board game.
