Max Stellbrink

Max was born in 2000 in Stuttgart, Germany. He earned bachelor's degrees in both Economics and Physics from the University of Heidelberg. During his studies, he worked as a research assistant and intern in the Environmental and Climate Economics department at the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim. He also worked as a research assistant at Heidelberg’s Chair of Environmental Economics.

After completing his undergraduate studies, Max joined the M.Sc. program at the University of Mannheim and entered the CDSE via the Master of Economic Research (MAER) track.

His main research interest is environmental and energy economics, focusing on energy transitions alongside the economic and behavioural effects of energy efficiency measures. His bachelor’s thesis examined how the timing of subsidies, relative to payday, affects the adoption of energy-efficient household appliances by low-income households.

In his free time, Max enjoys cycling, skiing, and cooking.
