Elisabetta Girardi is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the CDSS. She holds a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from the University of Trento (Italy) and a Master's degree in Politics and Public Administration with specialization in Methods of Politics and Public Administration from the University of Konstanz. During her studies she spent one semester at the University of York (United Kingdom) and one semester at the University of Uppsala (Sweden).
During her time in Konstanz, she worked as a research assistant at the department of Politics and Public Administration and as an assistant in the project “Recent Immigration Processes and Early Integration Trajectories in Germany” at the chair of Microsociology.
She wrote her master thesis on measurement biases in indexes of Women's Political Empowerment; her research interests include political participation and representation, with focus on political discrimination and exclusion. Methodologically, she is interested in mixed methods research.
