Ella Häcker is a doctoral candidate in Sociology at the CDSS. She obtained a bachelor's degree in Sociology at the University of Mannheim. During her undergraduate studies, she started working as a research assistant at the chair of Social Data Science and Methodology of Prof. Dr. Florian Keusch. For her master’s degree, she studied Sociology with a focus on Social Psychology and Quantitative Methods at the Goethe University in Frankfurt. During her graduate studies, she worked as a research assistant at the University of Mannheim and at the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin (WZB).
In her master's thesis, she examined the influence of individual social class and economic context effects on the electoral district level on the individual voting intention for radical right-wing populist parties. Ella is particularly interested in quantitative methods, text analysis with machine learning techniques, political extremism and radicalisation, and social inequality.
