Every year the Bohnenspiel tournament is an important part of the AI bachelor lecture. As part of the course the students are developing an AI for the Bohnenspiel. The best of these AIs play against each other in a tournament for the glory of their developers. This year the AI called Beanzilla is the new champion successfully winning 5 of 6 matches against the other participants. Beanzilla has been developed by Jan-Nicklas Bentz, Benedikt Lasotta, and Roman Stork. In a final show match Beanzilla has reached a draw against the winner of the 2016 edition.
