InnoMA Grant Accepted

The lecture Data Science Lab by Tobias Weller has been selected for funding by the InnoMA grant fund for “Innovative Digital Teaching”. This interdisciplinary lecture will be offered in collaboration with the Mannheim Center for Data Science in HWS 2022. The aim of this course is to introduce a fully learning experience for students. Students learn state-of-the-art data science techniques in lectures, gain the practical know-how needed to quickly and powerfully apply the taught techniques in exercises and apply them to current research questions and datasets.
The course consists of three parts: A hybrid lecture that combines in-class and online teaching, online exercises to gain the practical know-how to implement the contents of the lecture, and practical tasks in which students apply the learned knowledge to answer the posed research questions.

The financial resources of the grant fund will be used to create scope for digital innovation for this course. It will be used to provide a powerful server and related equipment for this lecture.

We look forward to the realization of the student-centered and digital teaching concept of the new course Data Science Lab, as well as the collaboration with InnoMA who will support the development and implementation of the course. More information and enrollment opportunities for this course will be announced in due time.
