Hala Jada was born in Palestine, 1991. She graduated with a degree in accounting from Birzeit University-Palestine. After that she received HESPAL award which enabled her to continue her studies at the University of Manchester in the UK, where she obtained a MSc degree in Accounting and Finance with distinction. In the three years that followed, she worked as an instructor at the accounting department at Birzeit University. Her studies and work experience drove her interest in accounting research, particularly, financial accounting and empirical research. Consequently, she applied to Mannheim after she had read about GESS. She came to Mannheim expecting that the structured PhD program offered by the university will enable her to start a strong academic career. As a student of GESS, she was very glad to find that Mannheim, with its vibrant community and welcoming atmosphere, met and exceeded her expectations in every possible way.
