Jan Zental first got to know the University of Mannheim during his Bachelor studies in Economics. After an internship at the Centre for European Economic Research in the research group “International Distribution and Redistribution” and an exchange semester at Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium, he decided to stay abroad in order to pursue a Research Master in Economics at the Université Catholique de Louvain. His interest in corporate taxation eventually led him into becoming a research assistant at the Louvain School of Management. Before joining the MaTax Campus in Fall 2018, he worked on international corporate tax reform as a Trainee at the Directorate General for the Taxation and Customs Union of the European Commission in Brussels.
