Marius was born in Memmingen, Germany. During his undergraduate studies in Economics at the University of Heidelberg, he worked as a student assistant at the chair of Public Finance under Prof. Christoph Vanberg, and spent a semester abroad at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). After internships at the Institute of Economic and Social Research (WSI) in Düsseldorf and the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim, he completed the Master's program in Economics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Univerität (LMU) in Munich. In Munich, he worked as research assistant at the Munich Center for the Economics of Ageing at the Max Planck Society (MEA), where he also wrote his thesis on childhood circumstances, life-course investment decisions, and their effect on the accumulation of wealth in old age. In September 2019, Marius joined the Taxation program of the Center of Doctoral Studies in Business.
