Clemens was born close to Frankfurt, Germany. He completed both his Bachelor’s degree as well as his Master’s degree in Management at the University of Mannheim. During his Master studies he focused on the areas of Finance and Accounting. In his master thesis, he examined the drivers of total shareholder return of German listed companies. Clemens spent two semesters abroad, one at the University of Victoria, Canada and one at the Graduate School of Management in St. Petersburg, Russia. During his studies, he gained practical experience as intern and as working student in the financial industry and as teaching assistant at the University of Mannheim. In addition, following his Master he worked for an international asset manager and financial services provider for two years. In August 2020, Clemens joined the Chair of Business Administration and Accounting and started the Accounting track at the Center for Doctoral Studies in Business.
