Samuel Mäurer was born in Frankenthal, Germany in 1993. He studied Economics at the University of Mainz. Before finishing his bachelors, he did a Semester abroad in Economics at the Nelson Mandela University Port Elizabeth in South Africa.

During his studies he worked as a student assistant at the Institut for policy evaluation in Frankfurt and did an internship at the ministry of economics at Mainz in the Department for SMEs and Entrepreneurship (research project: financial technology and digitalisation in the economy). Furthermore, he worked as a Research Assistant at the Chair of Public and Behavioral Economics, University of Mainz.

Before joining the Taxation Track at the Center for Doctoral Studies at the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences in 2022, Samuel worked as a consultant at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Frankfurt.
