Daniel was born in 1994 in Oakland, USA and grew up in Frankfurt (Main). Before joining the CDSE, he received a B.Sc. in Economics from Heidelberg University and a M.Sc. in Economics from Bonn University. In addition to several research assistantships, Daniel worked as teaching assistant for Mathematical Foundations for Economists in Heidelberg and for Statistics in Bonn.

His main fields of interest are Development Economics and Public Economics. In his free time he enjoys making music, reading and travelling.
