Hannes was born in 1991 in Konstanz, Germany. He received his Bachelor Degree in Economics from the University of Cologne. In the following he obtained his Master Degree in Public Economics from the Freie University Berlin. During his time in Berlin he worked as a student assistant in the Forecasting and Economic Policy Department at the DIW Berlin (German Institute for Economic Research). Following his Master Degree, he spent one year as a trainee at the European Central Bank in the Directorate General Research. In his Master Thesis he focused on international spillovers in a New Keynesian model through financial frictions, particularly with respect to monetary policy spillovers.
His fields of interest are macroeconomics, monetary policy, financial frictions and international economics. His hobbies are football, running and literature.
Hannes receives a scholarship from the Foundation “Geld und Währung”.
