Taylan was born in 1996 in Ankara, Turkey. He obtained his bachelor’s degrees in economics and philosophy and minor degree in mathematics from Koç University, Istanbul. He completed his master’s studies at the same university, working under the supervision of Dr. Emre Ekinci, on an applied microeconomics project on innovation and teamwork. His motivation as a future academic is to work on structural reasons of inequality and to conduct research to improve the welfare of the most vulnerable. He is currently interested in public policy, economics of information and political economy, while keeping an open eye for options of interdisciplinary study.
