Maximilian was born in Hannover, Germany. He obtained his bachelor‘s and master‘s degree from Leibniz University of Hannover and spent a semester at University of Cergy-Pontoise. During his studies, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Macroeconomics.
In his master thesis, he analysed the impact of trade liberalisation on the spread of illicit drugs.
