Naifeng was born in Shanghai, China. Prior to joining the CDSE, he spent several years studying computer science and earned degrees from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, The State University of New York at Albany, and the CUNY Graduate Center. As his studies advanced, his interests shifted towards economics, leading him to pursue further study at the CDSE. Naifeng's current research interests lie in the areas of game theory, political economy, and industrial organization. He is also interested in applying techniques from theoretical computer science, such as approximation algorithms and complexity theory, to problems in economics.
