Christian was born in 1999 in Krefeld, Germany. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Economics with honours from Maastricht University. During his studies, he worked as a student aide to a member of the German Bundestag budget committee with a focus on European fiscal policy. After enrolling in the M.Sc. programme, he joined he joined the CDSE via the Master of Economic Research (MAER) track.

His main research interest is Public Economics focussed on European Union and member state fiscal policy.

In his free time, he enjoys hiking, trail running and reading political philosophy and modern history.
