Henrique was born in 1998 in Lisbon, Portugal. He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from the Nova School of Business and Economics. During his bachelor studies, he spent an exchange semester in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Henrique obtained his master’s degree in economics also from the Nova School of Business and Economics. His thesis investigated the main drivers of wage inequality in Portugal, particularly the impact of increasing educational levels on inequality measures. Before joining the doctoral program at GESS, Henrique worked as a Pre-doctoral Researcher at the Stone Centre for the Study of Wealth Inequality at INSEAD and the Institute for Fiscal Studies. During this time, he worked on projects on health and labour market inequalities and early child development.
Henrique’s primary research interests are labour, health, and family economics.
In his free time, Henrique enjoys reading, playing tennis, and going to music concerts.
