Jonghun is from South Korea. He obtained his master’s degree in economics from University of Bonn and advanced master’s degree in economics from KU Leuven. During his time in Bonn, his master's thesis focused on developing IV estimators for functional data. With his combined interest in labor economics and microeconometrics, he estimated the impact of labor unions on wages through marginal treatment effect with semi-IV during his studies at KU Leuven. He also worked as a research assistant in Bonn, where he specialized in textual analysis.
