Carlos Gueiros is a PhD student in Political Science at the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences. He holds a Master's degree in Development Economics from the University of Göttingen and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Federal University of Pernambuco (Brazil). During his Master’s studies he worked at the research training group 1666: Transformation of Global Agri-Food Systems at the University of Göttingen. In his Master’s thesis, he explored the effect of local legislature size on Twitter political sentiment in Brazil. His research interests include political economy, political institutions, policy design and evaluation. Methodologically, he is interested in quasi-experiments and computational quantitative methods.
