Xiaoyu was born in 1995 in Chongqing, China. She holds a master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Mannheim and obtained her bachelor’s degree in Journalism at the Renmin University of China. Before joining the CDSS, she worked as a research assistant at the Collaborative Research Center SFB 884 “Political Economy of Reforms”.
Xiaoyu’s research interests lie in the empirical research in Political Science. She especially interests in quantitative methods and European politics. In her Master thesis, she investigated the direct and indirect effects of voters’ economic discontent on the electoral success of challenger parties in the aftermath of Euro crisis.
