Reconciliation of Work and Family Life

Changes in family life also bring about changes in working life, at least temporarily.  You have to reschedule your working time. Looking after your children and/or caring for your relatives requires you to remain flexible. Caring for your parents can cause you high psychological stress. You have to make important and far-reaching decisions.

In these situations, it can be very helpful to receive good advice. We offer various solutions for many situations and can work on new, individual approaches with you.

The counseling services also provide you with further information, brochures, and contact details of public counseling facilities.

The opportunity to discuss and share experiences with other staff members with family responsibilities can be a great chance to find common solutions or recieve helpful advice. The parent network at the University of Mannheim will help you to get in touch with other parents who are employed at the University of Mannhein. You will find more information about the parent network as well as an option for joining the group on the intranet of the following this link (german only).
