Parent and Child Room

There is no need to feel stressed, if you cannot find someone to care for your child at short notice. Just take your child to the Parent and Child Room (Eltern-Kind-Zimmer, EKiZi) in B 6, 30–32, ground floor, room 016.

There you can look after your child yourself while working or preparing for your examinations. Guests of the university can also use the room during conferences. The Parent and Child Room offers all the things working parents with children need:

  • a fully equipped office with Internet access and a whiteboard
  • a travel cot
  • an armchair for nursing/feeding infants and toddlers
  • toys and games for children from 0 to 12 years
  • a changing table in the nearby restroom facilities
  • a kitchenette with a microwave and a dining table

You can also appoint a caregiver (grandparents, babysitter, au pair etc.) to look after your child in the Parent and Child Room.

For more information, please see the rules and regulations governing the use of the Parent and Child Room.
Just book via e-mail.

The Parent and Child Room was a great support when I still didn’t have a place in a day nursery for my daughter, yet had to attend a mandatory course at university. I knew that my daughter was well looked after and that she had everything she needed: suitable toys, a meal, a changing table, a bed, and the opportunity to rest.
