Carolina grew up in Brazil and completed her studies in Lisbon, Portugal. She holds a Master of Science in International Development and Public Policy from Nova School of Business and Economics (NOVA SBE), a postgraduate certificate in Accounting and Tax from the Lisbon School of Economics and Management (ISEG), and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (FDUL).
Building on this background, she gained professional experience in policy and economics research as a consultant at Syntesia, working particularly on projects related to taxation for the European Commission. Prior to that, she had spent two years as an indirect tax consultant at PwC Portugal. She also worked as a research assistant at the NOVAFRICA Knowledge Center in Quelimane, Mozambique, where she supported research on tax morale and public goods.
Carolina joined the Taxation Track at the Center for Doctoral Studies in Business in September 2026.
