In 2023, Moritz Wiethüchter graduated from the University of Münster with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics with a focus on Environmental, Ressource, and Energy Economics. He completed his Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Economics at the University of M¨unster with a focus in Taxation, Public Economics and Political Economics, after studying at the Artic University of Norway in Tromsø. In his Master’s Thesis, he analysed how populist heads of states affect a countries economy long term and how different the populist leaders effect can be.
Next to many years of working in hospitality and construction, he was previously employed as a Research Assistant at the Chair of Innovation Economics and Entrepreneurship under Prof. Watzinger, and as a Tutor for Microeconomics and Research Assistant at the Chair of Public Economics under Prof. Becker. Furthermore, he was at the Student Council at the University of Münster and worked at an Actor at the Improv-Theater-Group ’Frischlinge Aldente’. Lastly, Moritz completed an Internship at the Beauro of Thomas Okos (MdL NRW) handling public affairs and advising on economic matters.
In September 2026, Moritz joined the Taxation track of the Center for Doctoral Studies in Business (CDSB) at the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS).
