Tobias is a doctoral candidate in economics whose work sits at the intersection of causal inference and econometrics.

He completed both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Economics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, supported throughout by a scholarship from the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung. During his studies he spent semesters abroad at the University of Warwick and the University of Copenhagen. In 2024/25 he was a visiting scholar at Yale University.
