Johann-Friedrich “Joff” Salzmann is a doctoral candidate in political science at the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS) while working as a researcher and academic staff member at the MZES and the Chair of Quantitative Methods. He holds a Master of Public Policy (M.P.P.) and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Data Science for Public Policy from the Hertie School in Berlin. Joff is a passionate Bayesian modeller with an emphasis on multi-level simplex models for categorical survey data. His current research focuses on measuring, modelling, and understanding short-term shifts in voters' electoral preferences using high-frequency panel data.
