Sven Hertling Defended his PhD Thesis

Sven Hertling has defended his PhD thesis on “Knowledge Graph Generation and Integration at Scale”

On June 26th, Sven Hertling, supervised by Heiko Paulheim, has defended his PhD thesis on “Knowledge Graph Generation and Integration at Scale”. In his thesis, he discussed the development of two large-scale knowledge graphs, i.e., WebIsALOD and DBkWik, and particularly tackled many challenging problems in the field of integrating knowledge graphs and ontologies extracted from different sources. Moreover, he made significant contributions to the Semantic Web and especially the Ontology Matching community, most notably by developing the MELT toolkit, which is now a standard evaluation and benchmarking framework.

The examination committee consisted of Ernesto Jiménez-Ruiz (City University of London), Heiko Paulheim, Heiner Stuckenschmidt, and Simone Paolo Ponzetto.
