Team from Uni Mannheim among Top 10 in Data Mining Competition

The Data Mining Cup is an annual data mining competition for student teams from all over the world. As in the previous years, students attending the Data Mining 2 course taught by Prof. Heiko Paulheim also took part in the Data Mining Cup 2020. As usual, the Data Mining Cup was very competitive, but the team SciKids Learn from Mannheim managed to be among the top 10 teams in 2020, and finally scored 7th out of 162 teams from 126 universities in 35 countries. This makes 2020 the fourth year in a row that a team from the University of Mannheim achieves a top 10 position in the Data Mining Cup!

We would like to congratulate the winning team:

  • Luka Biedebach

  • Benedikt Ebing

  • Tamara Schmid
  • Daniel Schweimer
  • Stephan Waitz

Unlike in the previous years, the award ceremony did not take place in Berlin, but was broadcast live on YouTube. A recording of the ceremony is available here.
