The Department of Equal Opportunity and Social Diversity directly reports to the Vice President for Strategic Planning, Internationalization and Equal Opportunity. We design and implement key measures regarding equal opportunity and develop the university’s equal opportunity strategy and the coordination of the audit process “Vielfalt gestalten”.
We offer various programs for your academic career at the University of Mannheim. If you are facing a challenging situation in your personal life, at work or during your studies, we can support you with various advisory services, including information on the reconciliation of family life and career or studies and advice in cases of conflict.
In addition, we are working on initiating family-friendly measures for employees and students of the University of Mannheim and promoting quality management, for example by conducting the audit familiengerechte hochschule.
As a member of the nationwide Genderconsulting network, we will support you in applying for external funding for measures promoting equal opportunity and in designing and implementing group-specific measures.

Over the next two years, the University of Mannheim will be going through the audit „Vielfalt gestalten“ of the Stifterverband.
Various stakeholders throughout the university are actively working together on the initiative and under the leadership of the Vice President for Strategic Planning, Internationalization and Equal Opportunity Prof. Dr. Fetzer. In the course of the participatory audit process, active and interested university members are given the opportunity for information, exchange and participation in order to jointly shape and further develop the university's diversity strategy for the coming years.
