Research Data Policy of the University of Mannheim
The research data policy of the University of Mannheim provides researchers with guidelines for the handling of research data. It takes into account the FAIR principles to make data as findable, accessible, interoperable – i.e. usable in different systems – and reusable as possible. This contributes to trustworthy and sustainable research. In addition, sustainable data management is becoming increasingly important for research funders, publishers and scientific journals.
The policy defines responsibilities for research data management (RDM) to ensure that researchers can be supported in a targeted approach. This includes the early planning of data management, the selection of appropriate licenses for the use of data by third parties, the long-term archiving and availability of data for optimal reuse and reproducibility and the promotion of scientific collaboration. In this way, the research data policy supports transparent, efficient and sustainable research practice.
