Semester and Tuition Fees
Semester fee
All students studying at a higher education institution in Germany are required to pay a semester fee. In the fall/
Administration fee: EUR 80
Studierendenwerk fee: EUR 100
Fee for the constituted student body: EUR 14
International exchange students are exempted from paying the administration fee and the fee for the constituted student body due to exchange agreements between the higher education institutions involved. This means that they only need to pay the Studierendenwerk fee.
Paying your fees via bank transfer
Please transfer the semester fee as well as any tuition fees, if applicable, to the bank account of the University of Mannheim indicated below before the re-registration deadline*. As a payment reference, please make sure to indicate your student ID number and name.
For example:

Frequently asked questions
I entered the wrong payment reference when making the bank transfer. Will you be able to trace the payment back to me?

Has my payment been credited to the account of the University of Mannheim?
If you go to Portal² > My Studies > Student Service > Bills and Payments, you will see your payment. If you do not see a payment after one week, please contact the bursar's office with proof of payment.
I made my bank transfer on the last day of the re-registration period. Why do I still have to pay the late fee of 20 euros?
The value date of the bank transfer of the semester fee is decisive. If payment is received after the re-registration deadline, an additional amount of 20 euros is due. The value date is displayed in Portal² > My studies > Student Services > Invoices > Details.
I have transferred the semester fee twice. What do I do now?
The double payment is displayed as a credit balance. It can be reimbursed upon request or will be set off against future fees at the beginning of the re-registration phase for the next semester.
How do I get my credit balance back?
Your account in Portal² > My Studies > Student Service > Bills and Payments shows the credit balance. You can get a reimbursement upon request.
Tuition fees
In addition to the semester fee, the higher education institutions of Baden-Württemberg charge tuition fees for international students as well as for students pursuing a second degree in accordance with the act on fees in higher education of the Land of Baden-Württemberg (Landeshochschulgebührengesetz, LHGebG).
