Studying Abroad with ENGAGE.EU
The alliance comprises higher education institutions spread across the continent and thus reflects Europe’s diversity. In addition to the University ofMannheim it also includes Luiss Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli (Italy), NHH Norwegian School of Economics(Norway), Tilburg University (The Netherlands), University of National and World Economy (Bulgaria), Université Toulouse 1 Capitole (France) and Vienna University of Business and Economics (WU) (Austria). In October 2023, Hanken School of Economics (Finland) and Universitat Ramon Llull (Spain) joined the network. In 2025, the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) joined as associated partner.
As a joint European university, ENGAGE.EU is the academic home of over 100,000 students, researchers and staff members who enthusiastically collaborate, are creative together, and share their interdisciplinary and cross-cultural knowledge with each other.

Global Sustainability Management (GSM)
The GSM program is open to students of the MMM program and the master’s program in Culture and Economy: Philosophy and History. This two-semester program combines current topics in sustainability research with international experience through interactive workshops, immersive learning, and practical project work. You will benefit from the expertise of our ENGAGE.EU leaders in academia and sustainability practice, thereby expanding your professional network.

ENGAGE.EU Joint Program in Digital Transformation
The Joint Program in Digital Transformation equips participants with the latest skills and knowledge to understand data, harness digital disruption, drive societal impact, and become leaders of digital change. Participants have the opportunity to collaborate with leading technology and digital companies through innovative case studies and interactive workshops. A particular highlight is the final summer seminar, hosted each year by one of the ten partner universities. During this seminar, all participants come together to apply what they have learned and expand their international networks. The program is conducted in English.

ENGAGE.EU Summer/ Winter Schools
The ENGAGE.EU Summer and Winter Schools are intensive programs, typically lasting two weeks, taught by professors and teachers from the ENGAGE.EU partner universities. These programs provide a platform for interdisciplinary academic exchange and collaborative learning. Participants develop both technical and transferable skills that will support them in their graduate studies and future careers.

ENGAGE.EU Online Exchange Initiative (OEI)

Since the fall semester 2020, the Online Exchange Initiative (OEI) has enabled students at the University of Mannheim to enroll in online courses offered by partner universities within the European University ENGAGE.EU alliance. This initiative provides access to international learning environments and opportunities to engage with students from across Europe. Students may apply for up to three online courses per semester from the partner universities’ course catalogs. These courses can be taken in addition to their regular studies at the University of Mannheim. Students may sit examinations, earn ECTS credits, and—depending on their field of study—have the courses recognized toward their degree program in Mannheim.
