NEPS Conference 2021: Presentations and Award

Christoph Steinert and Felix Olsowski participated at the 20th Jan Tinbergen European Peace Science Conference by the Network of European Peace Scientists (NEPS) held from June 29 to July 1, 2021. After the conference had to be cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Christoph and Felix were happy to present their research this year, even though the conference still had to be held virtually.

Christoph Steinert presented research from his paper with the title “Domestic surveillance and political imprisonment: Evidence from the former GDR”.

Felix Olsowski presented his paper “The Dark Side of Judicial Independence: Extrajudicial Killings as Alternative to Compliant Judges?”.
Felix Olsowski was awarded with the Stuart A. Bremer Travel Award for his paper. The award aims at intensifying the exchange between PhD students from Europe and America in the field of peace research. It includes the invitation (and funding) to attend the North American conference of the Peace Science Society (International). Congratulations, Felix!
