Launch bwCloud 3

Starting September 1, bwCloud-OS (Gen 3) officially enters production!

With its OpenStack-based “Infrastructure-as-a-Service” (IaaS) platform, the state-run service bwCloud-OS provides a powerful foundation for digital projects, including those at the University of Mannheim. Virtual machines equipped with CPU, RAM, storage, and network resources are ready for use in minutes—dynamically scalable and efficient to operate.

The bwCloud-OS Gen 3 will officially enter production on September 1, 2026, following the soft launch phase. The bwCloud-OS Gen 2 infrastructure will be permanently decommissioned in September 2026.

Please ensure that your projects and data are migrated to Gen3 by September 14, 2026, at the latest, to avoid any loss of data when Gen2 is shut down.
