Ursula Reutner

A short profile of the speakers of the Summer School.

Ursula Reutner holds the Chair of Romance Languages and Cultures at the University of Passau. She obtained her PhD from the University of Augsburg with a thesis on language and identity (2004) and qualified as a university lecturer with a monography on language and taboo (2007). She has served as Vice President for International Relations of the University Passau, as Director of its Language Centre and its Centre of Intercultural Communication. The focus of her research lies on linguistic taboos, multilingual societies, translation studies, academic language, as well as language use in digital media. She was awarded the Elise-Richter-Preis of the German Association for Romance Studies (2005), the Prix Germaine de Staël of the German Association for French Studies (2006) and an honorary doctorate by the Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires (2018).
