A hands-on workshop on the Transkribus transcription and text recognition platform will be held on May 7, 2026. Titled “Using Transkribus: Basics, Advanced Features, and University Library Services,” participants will receive an introduction to the software from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the ExpLAB (Schloss Schneckenhof).

The workshop will focus on basic functions and workflows, including uploading digital documents, layout recognition, and automatic text recognition (HTR). Advanced applications, such as processing tables and training custom HTR models, will also be presented. The goal is to highlight specific applications in research and teaching.

Another key focus of the workshop is direct interaction. Participants can ask questions, present their own projects, and discuss individual challenges. The event is open to anyone interested in efficiently cataloging historical or digital texts.

Registration is possible via Portal2. Please note that this workshop is only offered in German.
